Sylvi Listhaug takes over as deputy chairman of Progress Party but Ketil Solvik-Olsen may continue while in the United States, the central Board of Frp decided on Monday.

Sylvi Listhaug has been appointed as the first deputy leader, while Ketil Solvik-Olsen is allowed to continue as second deputy whilst in the United States this coming year.

The Central Board was convened at the FRPs party office in Oslo Monday afternoon to decide if they wish Sylvi Listhaug as the deputy chairman until the party’s national meeting in May next year , and if the party’s second deputy Ketil Solvik-Olsen could continue while living in the United States next year .

Party leader Siv Jensen has been clear that Listhaug is favorite to take over the position that became vacant when Per Sandberg resigned from the government and the party leadership in August. And Listhaug wasted no time in making herself available.

“I want to work for the party. I am engaged and have spent a lot of time traveling around the party organization. I will continue to do that, Listhaug told NTB during Arendalsuka.

Solvik-Olsen resigned as Minister for Transport Friday as a result of plans to move to the United States.
