Youth crime in Greenland in Oslo worries immigration and integration minister Sylvi Listhaug. She will discuss the issue with the Oslo mayor.
– I have requested a meeting with Raymond Johansen (Labor) because I want to know more about what the City of Oslo is doing to deal with the situation, said Listhaug said.
On Saturday she visited Greenland square, where a square festival was taking place.
Listhaug had a meeting with the Oslo police a few weeks ago to learn more about the situation.
– Police say we are far from Swedish conditions, but if we do not now intervene and take control, this may turn into a much bigger in the coming years, she said.
One of the problems she will bring up is the housing situation. She points out that there are many large immigrant families living in small apartments.
– This means that kids down to the age of eight are running wild in the streets, she says.
She is also concerned about what she calls an accumulation of people with various problems in municipal apartment buildings in the area.
