A man in his late 20s has been arrested after he fired at paramedics who were in his residence in Bergen on  Thursday.
The health personnel escaped and contacted the police, according to the local newspaper BergensAvisen. None of them were injured.
The police went to action on the residence, after first alerting Haukaas school and Kidsa kindergarten, located nearby, and asking them to keep the children indoors while the operation was in progress. At 14.30 pm the man was arrested and the situation clarified.
– We entered into a dialogue with the perpetrator and a female friend of his, who was also in the residence. The whole thing was undramatic. There was no hostage situation in the residence. The offender needs health care,  operations leader Kjersti Eidsnes in Western Police District said.
