There maybe a garbage-strike this weekend

There could be a strike from Sunday morning in Garbage removal services if the parties in the conflict don’t agree to mediation by Sunday night.

There are members in Sarpsborg, Bergen, Stord, Godvik, Stavanger and Stokke who first prevoked a strike.

“A strike would affect the collection and delivery of household waste in some parts of the country. The strike will also affect the pickup and delivery of waste from building and construction areas”, reports the Norwegian Transport Workers’ Union.

The Transport Workers Union has announced that they will withdraw 50 members on strike if the parties fail to reach agreement in mediation which starts Friday. The deadline to agree is set to midnight Saturday.

– The Norwegian Transport Workers’ Union is determined to find a solution, but we are also set to strike if mediation does not give the result that the industry council for Environment will accept, says chief negotiator Ole Einar Adamsrød in the Transport Workers Union.

In the ordinary negotiations between the Transport Workers Federation and NHO Transport was the increase of the minimum wage. A key point that led to the negotiations breaking down earlier this summer.
