Mullah Krekar was arrested on Wednesday morning by the Police Security Service (PST).

Police confirmed to TV 2. The arrest comes after the Supreme Court had decided that the conditions for extradition are present.
– The purpose of the arrest is to secure an eventual extradition. He will be produced for remand, says senior adviser Martin Bernsen in PST to Aftenposten.
Krekar is accused of terror plots in Italy, and he shall be extradited from Norway to Italy.
– The Ministry of Justice should promptly determine whether the extradition request should be granted or not, says Justice and Emergency Minister Anders Anundsen commenting on the Supreme Court decision.
Krekar’s lawyer, Brynjar Meling, is not giving up the fight for his client.
– We are, of course, complaining to the Ministry.
It does not take much imagination to imagine what kind of real treatment he will get, says Meling to TV 2, referring to the Progress Party’s election promise about sending Krekar back.
