Fjellinjen is in the process of developing a new IT system that will make it more difficult for heavy transport to use chips for electric cars when passing through the toll ring.

The toll company has no overview of how widespread such practices are, but figures show that in 2014 there were 114,000 such cases. Altogether, there were 113 million booths in Oslo and Bærum that year.

CEO, Anne-Karin Sogn of Fjellinjen, told NRK news that they are now developing a new IT system that will make it more difficult to cheat.

‘’When the customer registers with us, they must tick off whether they have a heavy or light chip. We are now in the process of developing a new IT system that will help us keep an overview of this and verify that it is correct” she said.
