Norwegians on the move can now report a change of address to the National Registry (Folkeregisteret) and the Post at the same time on Norway Post’s (Posten) website.
In the past, it has been necessary to report relocation to both the National Registry, for which the Tax Administration is responsible, and Norway Post separately. The double work is now over.
“This solution is a good example of successful digitization cooperation that makes everyday life easier for users,” says Finance Minister Siv Jensen (Frp).
With the new solution, users at posten.no can consent to Posten sharing the change of address with the National Registry. Posten receives over 650,000 relocation messages annually, while the National Registry receives 500,000.
“The joint service simplifies and streamlines the users’ everyday lives,” states CEO Tone Wille at Posten.
“The service is simple and time-saving for those who are moving, and ensures both us and the Tax Administration with higher quality data. We are very pleased with the collaboration,” says Wille.
