There will not be brought charges against an applicant in Hemsedal who was indicted for perjury in connection with an investigation into the fire at Hemsedal state reception centre the night of November 11 last year.

The applicant was detained, but was released after a week. Police upheld the accusation against him, but now however the case has been dismissed.
– The case was dismissed on the evidence, said police lawyer Per Thomas Omholt in South-Eastern Police District to Hallingdølen.
A number of people were questioned after the fire at the reception centre, and police mapped the movements of people in the area before the fire started. Police reacted to the statement of the applicant on the basis of the explanations from other people.
– We did not have enough in the end to charge him with perjury, said Omholt, stressing that the man was not related to the fire.
It is still unclear why it began to burn at the reception center in Hemsedal,

All 162 residents were evacuated from the reception centre that night of November 11, and no one was injured. The Kitchen and Administration section at the site burnt down completely.
