The embassy office in Kinshasa, Congo, will be upgraded to a full embassy in 2020.

“The establishment of a Norwegian embassy in Kinshasa will strengthen our bilateral relationship with the Congo and contribute to a closer dialogue on the challenges facing the country and the Great Lakes region,” said Foreign Minister Ine Eriksen Søreide (Høyre).

Norway currently has an embassy office in Kinshasa, which is subject to the embassy in the Angolan capital Luanda. There will be a gradual upgrade of this office to a full embassy during the second half of this year.
