Norwegian’s first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft arrived on Oslo airport on Wednesday morning.
The airplane is Norwegian’s ninth Dreamliner aircraft  , but the first Boeing 787-9.  If everything goes according to plan Norwegian will eventually get 29 more aircrafts of this type . On Wednesday morning the plane landed at the airport, arriving directly from the factory in Seattle in the United States.
According to a press release the aircraft has a greater range and more seats than the Dreamliner planes already owned by Norwegian. Norwegian currently has eight 787-8 Dreamliner which are used for flights between Europe and the United States and Scandinavia and Thailand.
The new 787-9 will also be used on new routes to North America, South America and Southeast Asia. This aircraft is six meters long and can accommodate 53 more passengers than its little sister 787-8. The aircraft has about 20 percent fewer emissions than other airplanes of the same size.
Norwegian CEO Bjorn Kjos said that the delivery is an important milestone in Norwegian’s global expansion.
