Over a quarter of a ton of cannabis and 600,000 kroner in cash were seized in Oslo in June. The seizures were part of the work towards controlling the gang environment in the capital.

The police also seized two guns and arrested and detained five men, all of North African origin. Four of them were detained for four extra weeks on Monday.

They are aged between 29 and 61 years old, wrote VG newspaper.

“There were such large amounts that it is clear that the drug was not for their own use. This is linked to criminal environments that sell it on.There are large amounts and these people are considered as intermediaries,” said police counsel, Andreas
Meeg-Bentzen.

He didn’t rule out that there may be more arrests in the case and stressed that further investigation is required to find the recipients of the shipments.

“We can not rule out that ‘Young Bloods’ are the final recipient,” he said.

Since the turn of the year, the Oslo Police seized approximately half a ton of cannabis, 25 kilograms of heroin, 20 kilograms of amphetamine, and over 30 firearms in the work towards taming the capital’s criminal gang environment.
