A couple in Romerike are accused of maltreating their daughter for several years from since she was five years old. The girl is now ten years old.
According to the indictment, the girl has been exposed to regular violence by, for example, being hit on the face and body. In several cases a belt or similar was used, writes Romerike Blad.
The parents would also throw things at the girl and grabbed her by the neck or shoulders.
Both parents are being charged with the involvement in violence by failing to intervene.
The Mother’s defender, Marthe Notøy, says her client denies guilt. In addition, Notøy does not want to comment on the matter. The newspaper has not succeeded in getting a comment from Ole Petter Drevland, who is defending the girl’s father.
Attorney-General Ole-Kristian Ringnes does not want to comment on the matter.
Police attorney Jane Lundstadsveen said the abuse was revealed after the child welfare committee sent a message of concern to the police.
“This is quite normal in family affairs like this,” she says.
The trial will be scheduled in November.

Poor child. Imagine what she was going through each day. Her home is supposed to be her sanctuary. It must have been a living hell and confusing for her. The very people who should have been loving and caring for her were instead brutalizing her. They should be made an example of and given a very heavy sentence.
