People alerting each other is problematic for police at sea

People use social media to alert each other about where police boats are located. This creates difficulties for police.

– People are quick to warn each other when something happens, and it is clear that this presents problems to our work, police superintendent Terje Sandik in South-Eastern Police District told NRK news.

It is through groups including Facebook, that people notify each other of where police boats are located. Some use the alert system to go with alcohol in blood without getting caught.
Although the alert system works well, Sandik stresses that one cannot do whatever one wants on the sea without getting caught.
– It is clear that we have some measures we can take to circumvent this, says Sandik.
