A Norwegian pilot is charged with having gone to work under the influence. The pilot was stopped in connection with a pilot project testing aircraft crews with random drug & alcohol tests.
The airline has confirmed to Nordlys newspaper that it was one of their officers who was caught at Tromsø Airport last week.
– “Our people carried out checks of the crew after they boarded and before the passengers were allowed to board,” police station chief Anita Hermandsen tells TV 2.
The pilot is now charged with a violation of the Aviation Act.
Director of Information Lasse Sandaker-Nielsen of Norwegian tells TV 2 that they have zero tolerance for alcohol use in service, but that they will await police conclusions in this case.
