The police are calling for a 51 year old man who jumped out of a window and escaped from Ahus a week ago. The man has been convicted of aggravated assault and sexual offenses and police fear he may be unstable.

The East Police District have issued a call for the man both in Norway and internationally after he escaped from Ahus on Tuesday, November 8 about at 8am. As he has still not been arrested, the police are asking for any tipoffs.
The man is 190 centimeters tall, slim, has dark / gray hair and police reports that he has a stooped walk.
The man was on a medical check at the hospital and ran away although two prison officers followed him. He jumped barefoot out of the window. The man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for domestic violence, the police informed earlier.
– From the background of the situation the police are not excluding the possibility that he could be unstable.
The public are therefore encouraged not to contact or consult the man on their own, but immediately call the police on telephone 02800, stated the police.
