Police investigating mass brawl at Mortensrud

Witnesses have identified suspects who were involved in a mass brawl at the Mall at Mortensrud south of Oslo on Wednesday evening. Up to ten people were involved, police said.

Two men, both acquaintances of the police, were injured in the attack and admitted to Ullevål hospital. According to police, they are not critically injured.

– We have not made any arrests yet, but we are doing an investigation and should have some witnesses by Thursday, said police attorney Børge Kristiansen at Manglerud police station.

The police were notified of the mass brawl at 9:46 pm Wednesday evening.

– There was a brawl between several perpetrators. There may have been up to ten people involved in this, said Kristiansen.

According to Dagbladet witnesses identified suspected perpetrators.

– We questioned witnesses on the site, and suspects have been identified. Those who were identified, will be questioned, Kristiansen said.

According to the newspaper, police found one battered Mercedes station wagon when they arrived at the site.

Young boys and mature men of different ethnic origin were involved in the brawl, police said.

Police presued several darkly-clad assailants late Wednesday night in the area with dog patrols and a helicopter. At 1 o’clock on Thursday morning police went into an investigation phase, and brought in a crime technician to work on the site.
