The police to strengthen force during NATO exercise

Inland in Trøndelag, Møre and Romsdal created 67 additional preliminary police posts during the NATO exercise,Trident Juncture, this autumn.

 

More than 40,000 soldiers from 30 countries are in Norway from the 25th of October to the 7th of November to participate in NATO’s largest military exercise since 2002.

Deputy police chief, Arne Hammersmark, of the inland police district, told NRK news that the exercise, despite the extra posts, could stretch beyond other police tasks.

“It is clear that we must prioritise quite a lot of resources towards this exercise during this period and it could go beyond other police tasks,” said Hammersmark.
