The police are sure of where Sunniva Ødegård (13) was killed
The police confirm that they have very strong indications as to where Sunniva Ødegård (13) was killed – but does not want to say where.
It was the night before Monday that Sunniva Ødegård (13) was found dead on a walkway at Varhaug in Hå municipality. A 17-years-old is indicted in the case.
– Someone wrote that we did not know where the crime scene was, and that is not quite that way it is. We have a strong indication of where the murder scene is, no one needs to doubt that. But we are not going to say what we believe at present, says Police Investigator Bjørn Kåre Dahl to Dagbladet.
Friday morning the 17-years-old was transferred to the Bjørgvin Prison in Bergen, Dahl tells Stavanger Aftenblad.
Refuses interrogations
On Thursday, another attempt was made to question the 17-years-old, but he still refuses to talk to the investigators. The investigators will not make any new attempts to interrogate the boy before after the weekend.
– He sticks to his original explanation. The police will try to interrogate the indicted man early next week, the police state in a press release.
The police state that they want to come in contact with a couple in their twenties who supposedly went for a walk near the murder site. They also say that they will relax the investigation over the weekend.
– There is still some work left to do, but the police have a good overview of this matter, Dahl states in a press release on Friday morning.
Was at the location
The local teenager from Varhaug has told the police that he was at the place where Sunniva Ødegård was found, but he denies being guilty of killing her. On Thursday, Police Attorney Herdis Traa told Jærbladet that the police believe the case against the 17-years-old is strengthened.
– We believe the case against him is strengthened on the basis of evidence that has come to light, says the Police Attorney.
Sunniva Ødegård will be put to rest from the Varhaug church on Friday, August 10th, Pastor Gaute Øgreid Rasmussen informs Stavanger Aftenblad.
