A policeman was taken to hospital and is said to be seriously injured after a car drove straight into his police car while he was inside on Monday night at Skeiane in Sandnes.

AT 2:52 on Monday night two police cars put up barrages along the county road 44 to stop a car that had run off from a police patrol at Bryne. The man who drove the car did not stop for the barrage and instead drove  straight into one of the  police cars on site.
Stavanger University Hospital informs Stavanger Aftenblad that the policeman is seriously injured, but that the condition is stable.
– The driver who tried to get away was also taken to hospital and placed under observation. There was also a woman in the car. She was taken care of on site by a doctor, before being put under arrest,  operations manager Henning Andersen in West police said.
The reason for the incident is unknown.
