Powerful fire on Abildsø in Oslo

A commercial building is completely destroyed by a fire on Abildsø in Oslo on Sunday. An excavator is put into the fire extinguishing work.

The fire in a commercial building in Enebakkveien on Abildsø was reported at 14:40 o’clock Sunday. Thick smoke forced the police to ask the public staying away and they asked people in the area to close the windows.

At 15 o’clock police informed that it still continues burning, and at 18.30 notified the fire department that they have requisitioned an excavator to assist in extinguishing efforts.

Then it was still working to extinguish the fire.

– Parts of the building, at least the second floor, is completely destroyed. The fire department is struggling to gain control, illuminated operative leader Christian Bortne from the Oslo police district told to TV2 earlier.

Police said to the news agency NTB that one person is staying there in the office building.

– We have control over this person situation, said operations manager Steinar Hausvik from Oslo police.

There is nothing to suggest that there have been more people in the building when it started to burn. In the building there including a Coop store, a lamp shop and a dentist’s office.

At 15 o’clock lit the fire department in Oslo that they had eleven cars by 27 workers at the site.
