The foreign base jumper stuck in a mountainside at Sunndalsøra is presumed dead. Efforts to bring him down cannot begin until Sunday.

The reason is the bad weather prospects in the area, said police.
The case happened on Thursday. Demanding conditions, however, prevented rescue crews to get to the place where base jumper stuck after jumping from Hårstadnebba in Sunndalsøra.

– We must think about the safety of the crew to be in and do the job. There is snow, loose material and poor visibility for aircraft. We have planned an action that can take six hours and then we have weather forecasts which enables us to work without precipitation, foggy and windy for six hours, said acting sheriff Olaf Gjøvik from Møre og Romsdal Police destrict to NRK news.

Police have not yet got hold of the man’s relatives and they do not want to go out with his name and nationality before that time.

Police in Møre og Romsdal received notification about the accident on Thursday at 19:31. Just two hours later than the time where base jumper had an accident at 1200-1300 meters’ altitude.
