A transport company in Drammen must pay 400,000 kroner after driving and rest provision is violated 148 times, reported by NRK news.
– The Court pointed in particular to the conditions in which drivers have driven without a driver card in the tachograph (speed and driving time registering meter) and also cases where it is assumed that the same driver has run with different driver card to avoid rest provisions.
It is driven a distance of 16,020 km without driver card for the period the matter concerns, said the ruling from Drammen District Court.
The company has been ordered by the court to pay corporate penalties of 400,000 kroner for violations. It was “Statens vegvesen” (NPRA) who reported the company in 2014, NRK reported.
In its judgment it emerges that overruns ranging from “almost trifling matters” to “almost total infringements and very serious infringements of the provisions.”
According to the review some drivers had sat in a day behind the wheel but in the judgment it emerges that the longest total run time was 18 hours and 46 minutes. Driving time shall in principle not exceed nine hours but can be extended to ten hours twice a week.
The verdict is not yet legally enforceable since appeals deadline has not expired.
