Integration and multiculturalism were the theme when Queen Sonja invited 15 women from different cultural backgrounds to tea at the Palace.

Monday guests have backgrounds from Eritrea, Somalia, Liberia, Pakistan, Malaysia, Iran, India, Guatemala, Syria and Afghanistan. They actively participate in various projects that promote the integration of women.

“What you most have in common is that you have come to Norway from different places – with different backgrounds, with different challenges and prerequisites. I’m looking forward to hearing more about this,” said Queen Sonja when she welcomed her guests to the table.

Five women from the Norwegian garden company’s project Borderless vegetables and herbs, five women from the Mira Center and five members of the Norwegian Tourist Association’s department in Drammen’s project for inclusive outdoor activities, were also in attendance for tea. Each of the three projects was presented around the table.
