88 youth will use the summer holidays to learn about farming on farms throughout the country.

– After registration more and more youth will make a difference by taking a shovel into their own hands, says Henriette Stoltenberg, coordinator of Green Spatak.
Norwegian Farmers and Smallholders Union have hosted Green Spatak every year since 1993, and never before has there been so many youth enrolled.
The project receives adolescents from 16 and up, it offers a minimum of a ten-day internship at farms and pastures with supervision. Here they learn about farm work including, milking, digging, cleaning brush, weeding, hay-drying racks, harvesting and work with animals.
– Green Spatak creates a unique cooperation and understanding between young environmentalists and farmers. The organization has a common interest in keeping local and environmentally friendly agriculture alive, says Stoltenberg.
