The repatriation agreement between Norway and Pakistan has come into force
Norway’s repatriation agreement with Pakistan came into force on 1 May 2019. The agreement facilitates the orderly return of Pakistani nationals without legal residency in Norway.
“Return of persons without legal residency in Norway is a priority for the Government. It is important to have good and practical arrangements for cooperation on return with Pakistani authorities. That the agreement now enters into effect is an important step in our cooperation with Pakistan,” says Norwegian Minister of Justice and Immigration Jøran Kallmyr.
The repatriation agreement with Pakistan was signed in January 2017. In addition to the orderly return of Pakistani nationals without legal residency in Norway, the agreement includes time limits for the assessment of repatriation requests and means of evidence regarding nationality.
