Readjustment not just because of low oil prices, according to Solberg

The readjustment of Norway is more fundamental than the unemployment caused by low oil prices,  Prime Minister Erna Solberg says.

Solberg stated that the fall in oil prices has led to a faster restructuring and readjustment of an oil-driven economy to a knowledge-based economy, than what anyone had imagined. But the restructuring and readjustment are also about something more, she stressed in her opening speech to the Conservative Party annual convention Friday:
– In a few years an aging population seriously began to make its mark on the state budget. And we as a society have to adapt  to a low carbon society that is based on environmental sustainability. Moreover, we need more jobs to achieve good integration, so that those who get work pay taxes faster than before, said Solberg.
The party leader urged the well over 1,000 delegates to believe in the Conservative message in the ongoing debate about tax cuts and measures to combat unemployment.
– Dear congress, do not let anyone tell you otherwise: The overall economic policy now works powerfully in fighting unemployment. The situation is serious, and we are taking an aggressive approach and taking strong measures to solve or reduce the problems,  Solberg said.
