Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Adel al-Jubeir, rejected those who are behind threats to activist Iyad el-Baghdadi who has political asylum in
Norway.

“I have never heard of anyone named Iyad el-Baghdadi” said Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister, Adel al-Jubeir according to Reuters news agency.

The CIA warned the Norwegian authorities of a possible threat to el-Baghdadi at the end of April. It is not known what the threat is or who is behind it.

El-Baghdadi is a stateless Palestinian and received political asylum in Norway in 2015.

He is known as a critic of authoritarian Arab regimes and Saudi Arabia’s powerful crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman.

The stateless Palestinian was a friend and partner of the Saudi Arabian journalist, Jamal Khashoggi, who was killed in the Saudi Arabian Consulate in Istanbul last October.

‘’It may be that the objective of the charges is to obtain a permanent residence permit in a country. But when it comes to us, we haveno information on him’’ said the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia.

The US intelligence agency, CIA gave warning in April and early May of possible threats to at least three people: El-Baghdadi in Norway, Saudi Arabian, Omar Abdulaziz who is resident in Canada, and a person living in the United States. All three had collaborated with Khashoggi before he was killed.
