A bus controlled by artificial intelligence drove its first trip at Fornebu in Bærum on Friday.

The electric bus will be in regular operation from Monday the 18th of June to August.
EMOS has taken the initiative for the project, led by the IT consulting company, Acando. The bus will be a shuttle between Fornebu S and Storøyodden shopping center.

“OBOS does not plan to operate a long-term bus company, but we want to find out whether self-drive buses can solve a transport need for people. One of the main issues we ask is whether such buses, coupled with car and bicycle divisions, can make it possible to operate without a private car,’’ said OBOS CEO, Daniel Kjørberg Siraj.

Minister of Transport and Communications, Ketil Solvik-Olsen of Fremskrittsparti (Frp) was present during Friday’s opening. It was marked by a concert with the artists,Hkeem, Eddy X Zino, and Linda Vidala at Storøyodden swimming place.
