Seven years after Joshua French was arrested in Congo, there is no sign of repatriation, the lawyer said.

We are working to get him home, but we have no indication of whether it happens. Now there is an initiative from the Congolese side, with one man, and we are just waiting for the result, says Hans Mariys Graasvold, lawyer Joshua French, to TV 2 news. The man he refers to is Congo’s President Joseph Kaliba.

It is now seven years ago Joshua French was arrested in Congo, accused of murder and espionage. Shortly after hes friend Tjostolv Moland also got arrested. In September 2009, they both were sentenced to death by the Congolese authorities.

In December 2013 Moland was found dead in his cell, and despite NCIS concluded that there were no indications of murder, Joshua French was convicted for killing his friend in 2014.
