One patient per day is the average in connection with electric kick scooters (aka kick bike) in the capital, figures from the casualty guard from the ER in Oslo, show.

This corresponds to 5 percent of all registered injuries since April 1, Oslo University Hospital informs Shifter.

Of those who have visited the Emergency room, two cases are serious, seven are moderate and 28 are slightly injured.

“The figures give an indication that this is a development we are to follow,” says Guro Ranes, traffic safety director at the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.

In the United States, over 1,500 electric kick scooter injuries have been recorded, including four confirmed deaths.

In Norway, small electric vehicles were legal for the first time last year. Since then, electric kick scooters have become increasingly common. Several players also offer rental of electric kick scooters in several Norwegian cities, writes VG.
