The traces and marks of the terrorist attacks five years ago are still visible, but the biggest marks are those that it left in us as human beings,  Prime Minister Erna Solberg said.

– It is five years since 77 people were killed. It is five years since the summer day which become one of the darkest days in Norwegian history, the Prime Minister said during the five-year “anniversary” event of 22 July. The loss will always be there. Time does not heal all wounds, she continued.

– Five years goes fast for a little girl or boy who, for those who have lost someone five years are nothing. We still see traces  of and marks left by the terrorist acts. The physical traces and marks. But those are not the biggest and most important ones.

– The biggest clues traces and marks are those that were left in us as people. In our loss of those we love. What is  five years when we lose the inalienable, Solberg said.
The prime minister listed several places in the world that have experienced terrorist attacks over the last year during her speech in front of government building, and spoke, among other things, about the attack in Nice in France last week.

– Today our thoughts also go to those affected by these and other attacks. The terrorists’ ideologies may be different, but they speak the same language. Weapons and violence are their principal remedies. Terror can only be combated by offering a better world. We shall bring forth that which unites, for terrorists cultivates the things that divides and puts groups against each other,  Prime Minister Erna Solberg said.
