Prime Minister Erna Solberg of Høyre (H) said she finds it difficult to get a clear idea of which path to take when choosing a new party leader.
Solberg spoke to Theresa May when she attended the international celebration of the 75th anniversary of D-Day in the port city of Portsmouth on the English South Coast on Wednesday.
‘’I had said that I think it is a search now that she’s leaving’’ Solberg told NTB news.
She added that she also spoke to several others in the British government about how they look at the situation.
‘’But it is not so easy to find out for sure what the outcome will be.’’
British politics face an uncertain phase after May announced her resignation at the end of last month.
A new party leader – and thus also a new prime minister – must be elected during the summer.
In Portsmouth, Solberg also had a brief meeting with Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte. And she was greeted by US President Donald Trump.
“I spoke politely with him, but there was no room for big political conversations” said Solberg.
‘’It is not the place to have big political discussions when standing and waiting in a reception area’’ she said.
