Crown Princess Mette-Marit presented the gloomy data from a global status report on malnutrition on Tuesday. The proportion of overweight people is increasing in almost all countries in the world.

The Crown Princess turned up at the EAT conference in Stockholm wearing the organization’s t-shirt. Here she presented this year’s Global Nutrition Report (GNR), a political independent global status report on the world’s efforts to reduce malnutrition. The results show no progress in efforts to reduce malnutrition globally. Every third person in the world are malnourished. Data from 193 countries show that the proportion of overweight people is increasing in all regions and in almost all countries. Almost all countries are on the wrong track regarding the fight to reduce anemia in women and diabetes. The number of overweight children under five soon outnumbers underweight children.

The Crown princess was then the moderator of a panel debate where three experts discussed the report.
Gunhild Stordalen’s EAT conference continued after the Crown Princess Mette-Marit left the premises together with colleague Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden.
