More NATO troops will be deployed in Poland as part of efforts to support Eastern European countries which feel threatened by Russia,  the alliance’s Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg says.

On Monday he visited Poland, where NATO is to hold a summit in July.
At the summit the member states are to discuss the deployment of more troops in Poland and the Baltic countries, a move which is clearly going to irritate Russia, if it is adopted.
Moscow believes NATO’s eastward expansion threatens Russia’s security.

– Let me be absolutely clear, there will be more NATO troops in Poland after Warsaw Summit. This will send a clear signal that an attack on Poland would be considered an attack on the whole alliance, Stoltenberg said at a press conference in the Polish capital.

– NATO  is still discussing the exact number of troops and where in Poland they are to be deployed,  Stoltenberg added.
At the same press conference Polish President Andrzej Duda said  that Poland is very happy to have NATO troops on Polish soil.

  1. President Obama should not attend 2016 NATO summit in Warsaw. Polish President and Government ministers are trapped in permanent breaking Constitutional Law. Obeying Constitution by the highest positioned politicians is a must.
