Labor (Arbeiderpartiet – Ap) leader, Jonas Gahr Støre increased the distance on Erna Solberg in a new prime ministerial measurement. Additionally, 89% said Solberg makes a good or fairly good job.

In the newspaper, Dagbladet, they reported that the poll, which was conducted by Ipsos this week, found that before budget negotiations really came to a head, only 8% said they think the Prime Minister is doing a poor job.

When asked who they would prefer to have as prime minister, 30% responded Støre, while 22% would prefer Solberg.

There has been a 1% increase of popularity for Støre since October, and a decline of 3% for Solberg.

‘These are good numbers. They have been at a steady level throughout the autumn, and it’s inspiring. I also know that I manage a team, and it’s built to overcome’, said the Labor (Ap) leader about the results.

When they were asked not to choose other candidates than Støre and Solberg, 50% chose Støre, while 43% went for the incumbent prime minister.

She was also pleased with the numbers that appeared in the poll.

‘Clearly, in a period when Ap makes a small improvement in the polls, it is not surprising that Jonas gets a little boost from it. Whether it’s the Prime Minister or the party that explains it, you can’t tell, but I think it’s nice to get positive feedback.’
