Warns against summer tires in south-eastern Norway

There are wintery conditions on a number of roads in south-eastern Norway on Monday, including in Hedmark. The Norwegian Public Roads Administration warns against using summer tires.


In Oslo, Akershus, Oppland, Buskerud, Hedmark and Vestfold alike, the meteorologists issue yellow hazard warnings. It is expected up to 250 millimetres of snow in some places on Monday.

The snow has already fallen in a number of places, and the Norwegian Road Administration warns of winter conditions on the roads of Østerdalen, Rendalen, Trysil, Engerdalen, Glåmdalen and Finnskogen.

“It alternates between bare, bare tracks, loose snow and snow slush. We do not recommend driving on summer tires in these areas. The contractors are out and about. Drive carefully!,” the Road Traffic Centre East encourages on Twitter.
