Survey: the Outdoors and Nature provides the best summer vacation

Six out of ten families will holiday in Norway this summer, and half of them at their cottage. Here there are hiking and outdoor activities that lures, according to a new survey.

Four out of five Norwegians will go on summer vacation in 2016, according to a survey by TNS Gallup conducted for the Norwegian Hospitality Association.
Of those, six out of ten will holiday in Norway. Almost as many say they will take their vacation in another European country, while one in ten will be holidaying outside Europe.
As many as 72 percent of the respondents believe that the best summer vacation includes trips and wilderness adventures.

– The study confirms that being physically active is an important part of the holiday for many. Here Norway has much to offer ; whether it be downhill bike riding at Hafjell, zip-line at Holmenkollen or rib- tours in Lofoten, says Kristin Krohn Devold, CEO of the Norwegian Hospitality Association.
Many also appreciate lazy days at the cottage, time with family and friends and days filled with food and drink experiences, it emerged in the survey.
