The Court of Appeal has declined to reveiw the issue of Edward Snowden coming to Norway without danger of being deported to the United States.

The Court of Appeal stands behind Oslo District Court ruling in June and the arguments from the state that they can not protect the request from Snowden to be protected from an extradition request from the United States.

The reason for requesting a guarantee that Snowden would not be extradited from Norway to the United States is that Snowden on November 18th of this year will receive the Ossietzky prize in Norway.

Snowden currently resides in Russia.
Oslo District Court wrote in its rejection in June that protection would undermine the international criminal cooperation the Extradition Act is based on.

The Court believes that it is impossible to decide whether an extradition to the United States would be unlawful prior to the existence of a request from the US authorities.

Snowden must pay the state 20 300 kroner in legal costs.
