The municipality of Stryn may spend over one million kroner to secure more residents in their municipality.

The municipality in Sogn og Fjordane will offer NOK 50,000 in disposable sum to land buyers, who have one or more children within five years from formal occupation, writes Fjordingen.

It is stated in a fresh decision in the Stryn municipality, which applies to 27 sites in the municipality.

“Stryn has had a slight decline in the population, so it would be nice to create a little blast about us. Now people may turn their eyes up for Stryn to be a nice municipality,” says Silje Skarstein from the Center Party to NRK.

In addition, the municipality has decided to reduce land prices in four of the municipal housing estates for which the child agreement applies.

According to NRK, the Stryn municipality may have to pay NOK 1,350,000 to land buyers because of the decision.
