National Rail (NSB) have closed all trains between Oslo, Grefsen, Bryn, Lillestrom and Ski next week, in connection with the construction of the Follo Line.

The cancellation of trains affects about 30,000 travelers, says NSB.

– Fewer people travel now than normal, so this is a good time to shut the railroad down, Transport Minister Ketil Solvik-Olsen said.

Friday the minister of the inspection met with railway workers and NSB inspecting the connection and the work around Oslo.

The cancellations apply to Gjøvik train, Østfold train and Gardermon train, says NSB.

They set up 300 buses for replacement of trains in the daytime, and 200 employees of the NSB will help travelers next week. Oslo central station and Tollbukaia in Oslo will have buses to replace the train service.

The police will direct traffic in Dronning Eufemias gate in Oslo. At its peak, NSB has 40 buses per hour, in addition to the Airport Express train coaches.

The cancellations will apply from Monday August 1st to Sunday August 7th.
