Norwegian tourists received a return flight from Sri Lanka if they want to go home after the attacks on Sunday said an insurance company.
Norwegians who are on holiday in Sri Lanka and want to return home after the terrorist attacks will receive a return trip on travel insurance said communication manager, Ole Irgens of Tryg Forsikring.
Irgens also said that even those who would have travelled to Sri Lanka in the near future can cancel the trip. The cancellation will then be covered by insurance.
The insurance company encouraged Norwegians who are in Sri Lanka to contact the travel agent and airline first if they have a desire to go home to Norway.
This means checking the possibilities for reimbursement or rebooking.
‘’Within the financial framework set by the insurance terms, there is also the possibility of continuing the holiday elsewhere’’ said Irgens.
Gjensidige Forsikring stated that so far they have received a few inquiries about changes of itinerary.
‘’We are following the situation carefully and continuously, and are ready to assist those who are affected’’ said Communications Manager, Bjarne Rysstad of Gjensidige in a press release.
The insurance company stated that they cover the evacuation of those who are directly affected by such attacks, and that this must be agreed in consultation with Gjensidige’s emergency center.
Cancellations are provisionally covered for departure until April 25 said the insurance company.
