The Ukrainian driver who ran a tourist bus off the road in Valldal, Møre and Romsdal in late July, is charged with careless driving and manslaughter.

A man was killed and 14 people were injured when the Ukrainian tourist bus with 41 people on board went off the county road 63 at Grønning in Norddal Municipality Saturday, July 30th.

Prosecutors have now indicted 49 years old for careless driving and negligence in traffic.

– Because he was driving much faster the limitation on that road and were not sufficiently aware of the traffic, he collided with an oncoming car. Because of this he lost control of the bus and drove off the road.

On this accident several passengers injured, one passenger died and there was major damage to the bus, writes Attorney General Kjell-Otto Lilleberg in the indictment.

Lilleberg states that counsel will make claims for redress compensation to the deceased’s widow.

Case is scheduled for Sunnmøre District Court on Monday October 17th, writes Sunnmørsposten. There are five days left till the case starts.
