A large group of black-clad and masked people attack people who seemed to have foreign origins in Stockholm on Friday night, according to the newspaper Aftonbladet.
Upwards of 100 black-clad and masked men strove against police and security guards in central Stockholm on Friday evening. According to Aftonbladet, the men first attacked the people of foreign origin in the area around the central station in the Swedish capital.
A film that the newspaper has published shows several black-clad people in clashes with security guards at Sergels square in the heart of the city.
Earlier in the evening, the police were informed that several people associated with different football supporter groups planned to gather in Stockholm in the evening.
– Police have been in contact with these several times during the evening and have worked to split them. Things calmed down after about an hour, Fredrik Nylén in the Stockholm police says.
Before the attacks leaflets with the caption “That’s enough now!” were distributed at the central station. Police will not confirm that these people have had the right extreme attitudes.
The neo-Nazi group Swedish Resistance Movement late Friday night published a post about the unrest on its website. The post described the incident as “football hooligans’ cleared up among the criminal immigrants. “
One person has been arrested for violence against an official, five are taken care of by the police, and one case of violation against the knife law has been reported.
