Warmest north in October

In October this year the weather has been close to normal. The Warmest was in Northern Norway, particularly in Finnmark, with 2 to 3.5 degrees difference.

Some stations north of Eastern Norway, Western Norway and Trøndelag had monthly temperatures of 1.5-2.5 degrees below normal.

The hottest stations were Ytterøy Ande lighthouse (10.8 degrees), Slåtterøy lighthouse, Ona II and Svinøy lighthouse with (10.3) and Kråkenes (10.2).

The coldest stations were Juvflye-Mimisbrunnr climate park (3 degrees), Juvvasshøe (- 2.6) and Sognefjellhytta (- 2).

The highest maximum temperature was 18.5 degrees was recorded on October 7 in Valldal and Linge. The Lowest minimum temperature was – 16.9 degrees which were measured at Folldal 15 October.

Monthly Precipitation for the whole country was 45 percent of what is normal. Only three stations, in Møre og Romsdal and Sør-Trøndelag, received more precipitation than normal.

Some stations, mainly in Oppland and Hedmark, received less than 10 percent of the normal rainfall.

The wettest stations were Hornindal (202.0 mm), Haukeland (190.7 mm) and Hovlandsdal (190.6).

The driest stations were Overhalla (1 mm), Folldal (1.5) and Einunna power plants (1.7).

Highest daily precipitation was 73 mm measured at Høyanger work on 28 October.
