The rescue company’s new rescue lifeboat Odd Fellow III was duly baptized by it’s godmother Wenche Myhre in Oslo on Friday. The Baptism took place promptly on the Honnørbrygga itself.

The new rescue lifeboat is the third given by the Odd Fellow Order in Norway and is a state-of-the-art rescue boat in the Ulstein class. The price tag is just over NOK 40 million.

“Already when I was an eleven-year-old, my friend and I did a show to raise money for the rescue company. I tap dances and she danced an Indian dance routine with green hair, I recall. Since then I have lived on and by the sea for almost all my life,” says Wenche Myhre.

Odd Fellow III is 22 meters long (72 feet) and has a top speed of 38 knots. The rescue lifeboat will be served by a crew of three, and it will always have dives on board.

The skate will be stationed in Bodø.
