The Government proposes to allow wheelchair users to increase their speed from 10 to 15 kilometers per hour.

Minister of Transport and Communications Jon Georg Dale (FRP) states that the Ministry is working on a proposal to change the speed limit for wheelchairs and will send it on hearing.

We will prioritize the work highly so that we can get a clarification as soon as possible, he writes in a reply shared by a fellow party member at Parliament, Åshild Bruun-Gundersen.

Frp’s health policy spokeswoman mentioned the 15-year-old Andreas, who, according to NRK, was unable to keep up with his friends when they were cycling. She wants the same speed limits that have been set as in Denmark and Sweden, which is 15 kilometers per hour.

‘Those submitting the proposal is uncertain as to which government branch this inquiry should be submitted to. The undersigned has noted the Minister of Transport’s commitment to speed, and therefore chooses to send the inquiry there,’ writes Bruun-Gundersen in her inquiry.
