World leaders condemn ambassador killing in Turkey

The US, UK, and NATO condemn the murder of the Russian Ambassador to Turkey.

“We condemn this act of violence. Our thoughts and prayers go to the ambassador and his family,” says the US State Department spokesman John Kirby.
America’s UN ambassador Samantha Power also condemned the attack.
“I am shocked by the news of the grisly murder of Russian Ambassador in Turkey. My thoughts go to his family. I condemn this cowardly attack,” wrote British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson on Twitter.
“I condemn the murder of Russian Ambassador in Turkey. My thoughts go to his family and the Russian people. Nothing can justify such a vicious act,” writes NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Twitter.
The EU condemns the murder.
“The EU condemns this attack on Russia’s representative in Turkey in the strongest terms. We want to express our solidarity with Russia,” said EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini.
