Pressure increased a lot on national coach Per-Mathias Høgmo after the miserable result 0-1 defeat in Azerbaijan.

In a very disappointing performance, which only five minutes before the break was something to take home from Baku, probably the possibility to join of the football World Cup in Russia disappeared in just under two years.

For the first time since 1988, the A-team initiated a qualification with two straight losses. The game in the Azerbaijani capital Saturday was a gust from the hopeless 80s.

Norway had never lost a game against Azerbaijan (3-1-0).

The statistics were destroyed. Norway had never conceded a goal against the former Soviet republic.

The statistics vanished after only 11 minutes when Maksim Medvedev scored the only goal.

Norway got started as miserable as they have played on gigantic stadium in Baku and Norwegian were playing as loose ends in the defense.

Already after 11 minutes Høgmo wishes disappeared.
Adama Diomande never managed to clear away a weak shot from the hosts.

Agabala Ramazanov got the ball via Pål André Helland how has tried to stop Maksim Medvedev.

Completely unknown Medvedev could guide the home team. Neither Ole Selnæs or Per Ciljan skjelbred were aware of Azerbaijan’s plans on this game.
