Ada Hegerberg scored a hat trick (Lyon – Barcelona 4-1) in the master league finals, but excluded a return to the national team even though she admitted that she misses representing Norway.

Everyone wanted a piece of Hegerberg, who became the game’s big player with three goals in just over a quarter of an hour for Lyon in the championship final against Barcelona on Saturday night.

The match ended the season for Hegerberg’s team,Lyon. While several team friends will be in action in the summer’s World Cup, the 23-year-old, who has been voted the world’s best footballer, is not included in Norway’s squad. Hegerberg finished her national team career after a weak European Championship in 2017 and has so far not looked back.

‘’I miss playing for my country, but not my association, or theirs’’ Hegerberg told VG newspaper in the press zone after the master league finals, without wanting to give further comment on the topic.

In spite of the conflict regarding national team membership, she received congratulations from the Norwegian Football Association after her demonstration of power in the final of the world’s most popular club tournament.

‘’Much is said about her not currently playing for Norway.

We wish it was different, but I am still proud that Ada is from Norway and that by her achievements she puts Norwegian football on the map internationally. The warmest congratulations to Ada’’ said NFF’s director, Lise Klaveness to fotball.no.
