Cosmos, the Russian team that Wednesday afternoon went to physical attacks on Herds G14 players, is banned from the Norway Cup.

The team also was fined 2,000 kroner, says the Norway Cup jury in a statement.

– The fine is paid to the organizer within 5 August 2015. The decision is final and cannot be appealed, according to the jury’s decision.

The information is given to the police, and further sanctions against Cosmos can happen if they do not comply with the decision.

It was during the sixth final of the Norway Cup football match where the game suddenly evolved into a violent affair.

The boiling point was reached when the referee ended the game before it actually ended.

– There were some players who were knocked down and kicked after the referee blew the match. We are still quite “shaky” after what happened, so we need time to calm down, told Herds coach Trond Lervik. Sunnmørsposten earlier today.

The police were contacted, but they did not arrive before the Russian team had run off.

Herd will still participate in the tournament and they are ready for the eighth round.
